I'm Special

I'm Special
On my way from Heaven,
God delayed my trip that day.
He said that I was special,
and then sent me on my way.
But not before he kissed me,
Right upon my ear.
He left his blessed mark
to carry with me here.
He whispered in my ear right then,
that He loved me without doubt,
and then He closed my ear up tight,
so the whisper won't get out.
He told me both my legs were strong
and would help me stand up tall.
He told me both my arms would work
to catch me if I fall.
My eyes would catch my memories
to store within the pages of my mind,
My heart would fill with all the things I would love,
so many things, I would find.
He told me I could fall asleep
to my Daddy's bedtime tales,
and listen while my Mother sings
of seas and boats with sails.
One ear, He told me, could hear the sounds
that little birdies make.
The other ear was his gift to me,
a blessing for my sake.
For when I'm feeling sad, he said,
my other ear would hear,
His whispered words of eternal love,
left waiting for me there.
I'm special.

We got a BAHA!

Jansen, Jordan, Pat Pat and I went to see Lauren (audiologist) today to get Jansen a loaner Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA). The minute we put it on, he walked away and continued playing cars with Jordan.

After a few minutes he walked over to us and said "take it off, it's to loud." We explained to him what was going on, and then he continued to play more.
We watched him for about 25 minutes with it on and he did fine. I took it off for the ride home, but we talked about it a few times and Jansen said he couldn't wait to show daddy.

We will try the loaner out for 6 months. If he likes it and asks to wear it, we will try and get him one through insurance (this should be fun).
If he doesn't care for it to much, then I will know we tried and won't have any regrets later in life.

Once we got home he wore it for 15 minutes. I noticed while outside he could localized where the sounds were coming from.
He heard birds far away and turned (the correct way) to look for them. I started crying a little when he did this. This will be a rough few weeks getting him used to wearing it.

I have found a great website for BAHA products. I just ordered Jansen a hat, and different kinds of headbands. http://www.forwerd.net/

EYES ARE PERFECT!!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

Jansen went to see Dr. Greenburg yesterday, and his vision is PERFECT!! It was good to hear that both eye muscles are working the same. Tomorrow Jansen will be fitted for a BAHA (hearing aid). I am a little nervous and excited at the same time. This hearing aid will fit behind his "little ear" and will give him full hearing in that ear. (if he will wear it) I hope to post pictures after we get the hearing aid tomorrow. I have heard this will be an emotional time once the audiologist puts it on his ear. I have heard they will cry and scream because it will be loud at first. I have also heard he might cry and say "WOW, I CAN HEAR NOW" As most of you know I will be a basket case if he starts to cry or says he can hear.
Please think about us tomorrow afternoon around 4:00 as we start this journey with Jansen.

Jordan and the Cardinals baseball team are still doing GREAT. We have only lost 1 game. Jordan had another lesson with Coach James last night and each time he is learning something new.

Chris and I are really busy this week. Chris is spraying everyday after work and it's CRCT testing at the school. My poor little first graders are stressing out, but doing great! Have a great WEDNESDAY!

What a great week!

The boys and I are having a great Spring Break. (We miss you daddy)
Sunday: I cleaned closets and the boys drawers! YEAH!!
Monday: Jordan spent the night with cousin Kaylee, and they had so much fun. We miss you Kaylee!
Tuesday and Wednesday: The boys stayed with Hema and Hapa. Wednesday they went to Pine Mountain to see the animals. You rent a van and ride through the trail feeding and touching the animals. If you need something to do try Pine Mountain out.
I am enjoying peace and quite around the house and getting more spring cleaning done.
Enjoy this nice Atlanta weather and have a great Thursday!

Spring Break starts at 2:45!!

YEAH! It's spring break for me and the boys. I am so excited to have a week off and spend time at home.
We have had a good week.
Jordan is growing up so fast that we now have girls calling him at the house. The other day, a girl called 10 times within 1 hour. She left a message on the machine every time she called. We are also raising money at the school for the March of Dimes, and Jordan decided to use his birthday money for the babies. He is so excited about using his own money.
The daycare is wanted me to potty train Jansen, because he stays dry at school. Well we are on the second week and he is doing good, except for the other day. Picture this: I am in line at the tag office with 2 wild boys and Jansen decides he wants to go potty, I turn my back and he has taken his pants off and pees on the floor while I am in line. I was so embarrassed. I couldn't do anything but laugh.
Have a great weekend!
