Thanks for sharing.
Hi, I found your blog from the deaf village as I was doing a search on BAHA. We live in Lawrenceville, GA and it seems that although our daughter does not have a diagnosis of atresia/microtia like your son, she was born with tiny earcanals causing her to have a moderate conductive hearing loss in both ears. I just read a few of your entries to try and find out what kind of hearing aid your son wears. Our daughter currently wears a bone conduction hearing aid and is scheduled for bilateral BAHA Stage 1 surgery on August 7, 2009. I have had a very rough time trying to find parents of children that have actually gone through this, especially anyone close to our area. Do you know of anyone in Georgia that has gone through this. We also have gone through Babies Can't Wait and now the local county school system where we have an IEP in place for our daugher and she receives both speech and special ed services since her hearing loss was not detected until she was almost 3. :-) I guess our daughter is a little older than your son (born September 2004). Anyways, if there is any advice you could give me, I would very much appreciate it, if you e-mailed me at caekoenig@gmail.com. Thanks in advance. Corrie
Hearing that kind of news about your boy is very amazing. I can say that he really surpasses everything and he is enjoying his life again.
