Crockpot Flank Steak with Homemade Tortillas

CROCKPOT FLANK STEAK
Bethsfavoriterecipes.blogspot.com
Makes 4-6 servings
1 flank steak (about 1-1/2 lbs.), cut in half if you have a small Crock pot
1 Tbsp. oil
1 large onion, sliced
1/3 cup water
1 can (4 oz.) chopped green chilies
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown steak in oil. Transfer to crockpot. In the same skillet, sauté onion for a minute or two. Gradually add the water. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Pour over the flank steak. Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours or until the meat is tender. Slice meat and serve with the onion and pan juices.

Homemade Tortillas

Here's what I did:
2 C flour
3 teaspoons vegetable oil
3/4 cup milk - room temp
1.5 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
Mix ingredients together in a bowl using your hands. Knead for a few minutes until dough comes together and loses most of the stickiness. Cover with a damp towel for 10 minutes.
Divide dough into 10 balls, cover with a damp towel for 10 minutes.
Using a rolling pin form the tortillas into VERY flat circles. Heat a dry skillet over med-high heat. Place tortilla on the skillet - it will begin to bubble. Let cook 45 seconds and flip
.

I have not tried this recipe, but I think I am going to put it on the menu for next week....but I will be buying the tortillas, instead of making them.
Thanks to @ http://www.jennasjourneyblog.blogspot.com/ for sharing this on your blog...sounds Yummy!

NIT Baseball Tournament....Jansen

Jansen was picked up by the 5U McDonough Red, White, Blue Gamers for the NIT tournament this past weekend. Jansen joined this team several times last week at batting practice and really seems to like the kids. We have never seen Jansen play ball with his age group and we had a great time watching him interact with these boys. Jansen will continue to play rec ball with the Sharpsburg 7/8 Marlins, but will play tournament ball with the Gamers if they are willing to have him back.
Take a look at Jansen in action.........

The whole team was very surprised when Jansen came to bat and the other teams coaches "walked him," instead of having his coach pitch to him.
The Gamers won both games Saturday.....
Sunday came........

The Gamers won 1st game....and now off to the championship game........

and The Champs are................

THE GAMERS!!!!!!! WE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are the NIT 5U Champs!!!!!

These next few pictures will show you how happy Jansen and the Gamers were to win.

WOW!! Jansen can jump. I love looking at this picture of him. Baseball is his WORLD and he was so happy to win. :)

The 5U Sandtown Braves

We would like to THANK all The Gamers parents for letting Jansen join them for this tournament. We hope to see yall again soon.
